Alexander von Hoffman is Senior Research Fellow at the Joint Center for Housing Studies, a collaborative unit affiliated with the Graduate School of Design and the Harvard Kennedy School. He is a specialist is history and policy of housing and urban affairs, particularly the history of low-income housing policy in the United States. He came to the Center in 1997; he was previously associate professor of urban planning and design at Harvard's Graduate School of Design and a Fellow at the Taubman Center for State and Local Government at the Harvard Kennedy School.
